The countdown is on! Since we’ve received the keys to our “new home” so to speak, we’ve not only hit the ground running, we’ve hit it hard. And we mean literally!
We’re well into the construction phase of this new adventure! To start, we’re pulling up the old flooring to make room for the new, painting, getting lines/electrical and everything else in place as it should before we can get to the really fun stuff. Who knew there could be so many layers of flooring in one space?! It’s crazy to see a little bit of history through this construction process…
Penn Square Mall first opened in 1960 as an open-aired facility. It was home to some great brands back in the day like John A. Brown, Rothschild’s, Streets, Montgomery Ward and others. The property held some pretty great fairs and shows, now nostalgic. Stop by the management office and check out some of their old pictures!
That’s one of the reasons we decided to land where we did. Penn Square is rich in history and is a staple in the OKC community. It’s managed by one of the world’s largest retail real estate companies (Simon Properties). We look forward to adding our touch and being a part of the ongoing history with our adventure!
